Triglycerides are the most common type of fat in the body coming from butter, oils, and fats we eat. Increased triglycerides can raise the risk of heart diseases such as Coronary artery disease.
A 55 year old female client (homemaker) was diagnosed with Hyperlipidaemia a couple of months before coming to ORIJINE. She was very keen on Ayurvedic intervention.
The Ayurvedic principle used here was to treat the Kapha -Meda Dushti. A combination of oral medications comprising of decoctions ( Asanadi, Punarnawadi ) and tablets ( Triphala Guggul, Shiv Gulika ) was used.
A strict dietary and lifestyle modification chart was given to cut down saturated and trans fats and include physical activity in the daily regime.
The results ( after 3 months ) showed considerable lowering of Triglyceride levels ( the values had come to the normal range ) along with the reduction in VLDL levels. Also, in the process, symptoms of bilateral knee pain and bloating had subsided without any specific medications to treat them. ( since the medications given had effects on the other systems as well ) Most importantly no adverse effects were reported.
